Stuartholme is celebrating being nominated for two prestigious Australian Education Awards.

Mr Daniel Crump, the 19th Principal since the school opened as a convent run by the Catholic Sacred Heart Order of Nuns in 1920, is among a high calibre of excellence awardees for School Principal of the Year (non-government).

Also Brisbane’s only Catholic girls’ boarding school, which is home to 123 students from rural and remote Queensland and New South Wales as well as Dubai, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and Papua New Guinea, Stuartholme is vying for Boarding school of the Year.

Principal Crump has been acknowledged for his initiatives to create transformational change within Stuartholme – building a community and bolstering the role of parents, staff and all 700 students to optimise the success of every child.

Daniel’s innovative leadership has delivered outstanding student results with a 5% increase in pupils with an ATAR of 90+ (10% above the State average). His guidance has also doubled the award of VET certifications, improved student attendance, 83% participation in sport (35% above the national average effort), 25% growth in music and the Arts as well as the 2024 visionary expansion into upper primary.

In a competitive market, Boarding numbers have also increased by an impressive 25% over the past 12 months and the magnificent Heritage Listed Boarding facilities have undergone an extensive $6 million renovation, catering to the social and emotional needs of young women.

“When one succeeds, we all succeed,” said Mr Crump.

“Our entire Stuartholme community is very proud of these acknowledgements.

“As leaders in girls’ education, we are honoured to be recognised amongst other deserving, excellence awardees,” he said.

An independent panel will assess Stuartholme’s nominations in two of the 28 categories and then vote. The awards ceremony will be held at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney on Friday 11 August 2023.
