Stuartholme has a long tradition of educating girls. Our Foundress, Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat, ensured the Society of the Sacred Heart contributed to the education and the promotion of women in her time and into the future. Sophie is quoted as saying “for the sake of one child, I would have founded the Society”. Her desire to educate all children was well known.
