Welcome to Stuartholme Boarding, my name is Karen Davies and I have had the honour to lead Stuartholme’s Boarding House since 2019.
Our Boarding House offers a truly unique boarding experience. The motto of the House is Be Kind, Be Inclusive, Be Independent, Be Involved and Be Your Academic Best.
A great strength of Stuartholme boarding is our diversity which we see expressed daily in many harmonious ways, but this result is not automatic; it comes about through hard work and a deliberate pursuit of our common vision: a boarding community that enables each individual to flourish in a way that helps empower others at the same time. A Stuartholme boarder is a young woman with excellent social skills who interacts respectfully and sensitively with a range of staff and students and shows compassion and empathy.
At Stuartholme School, our Boarding House is right in the centre of the school thus in essence is the heart of the school. Boarders bring warmth and a genuine connection to all that they meet, they are open and generous to all new girls, knowing that a friendly face is very important not only in the first few days but on each and every day. Our girls live by our motto ‘Cor Unum’ – one heart.
In our Boarding House we offer opportunities to develop a personal academic profile of each girl to ensure that all of the girls know their individual strengths as a learner first and foremost and are offered the appropriate support to gain skills in areas that need further development. We have access to tutors who help each girl work through the assessment schedules and expectations of the school.
The opportunities for self-development, self-discipline and resilience are but a few of the skills your daughter will develop over her time in Boarding.
Stuartholme is about personal accompaniment, where every girl has an adult to support and guide them, these include the Assistant Heads of Boarding and a senior girl as a mentor assigned to each girl to ensure that no one is left alone. We also dove tail our boarders with the Big Sister/ Little Sister program in both the Boarding House and the Day school.
I invite you to explore Stuartholme further, either by booking into one of our regular school tours, or booking a personal tour with our Registrar.
So please come and experience what we have on offer and feel the spirit of our place.
