Appointment of the Principal Statement

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

On behalf of the Stuartholme School Board, I have great pleasure in announcing the appointment of Mr Daniel Crump as the new school Principal of Stuartholme School commencing in January 2023.

Mr Crump is well known and regarded in the Stuartholme School community and in Catholic education in the Archdiocese of Brisbane.  Following his appointment as Acting Principal in March 2022 he has carried out his duties as Principal with distinction.  He is an exemplary leader who embodies the charism of the Sacred Heart with his sensitivity, wisdom, kindness, and deep compassion.

Mr Crump is nationally acknowledged for his excellence as an educational leader in the innovation and transformation of girls’ education.  He has been inspirational in providing exceptional stability to the school whilst delivering on the school’s strategic priorities notwithstanding multiple external impacts.  Since his appointment as Deputy Principal in 2020, Mr Crump has driven systemic change and positioned Stuartholme School as a leader in educational excellence which has been recognised with both state and national awards, and through educational publications.  He has been instrumental in Stuartholme School’s expansion of education provision into Year 5 from 2024 and will effectively integrate Years 5 and 6 into the school community.  In the model of Madeleine Sophie Barat and subsequent Sacred Heart leaders, he has responded to our complex and changing world with innovative approaches and perspectives.

Whilst Acting Principal Mr Crump has continued the growth of a philanthropic culture with the successful inaugural giving day held in September enhancing accessibility to the gift of a Stuartholme School education.  Drawing on 25 years’ experience in Catholic Girls’ education with 18 years as a leader, he will lead Stuartholme School to provide pastoral care to ensure every student can reach their potential, and, through the Sacred Heart Charism, make a difference in the world.

The Board process for the selection of our new Principal was extensive and the national and international level of interest shown in the role by quality candidates is testimony to the outstanding Catholic Girls education provided at Stuartholme School.

The Board looks forward to working with Mr Crump and the Leadership Team to progress our Strategic Plan and position Stuartholme School on a sustainable pathway for the future.

I thank you for your continued support of Stuartholme School and wish you all joy and peace as this year draws to a close.

Yours sincerely,

Helen Spain

Board Chair
