Deputy Principal

Stuartholme School recently completed a strategic review with a view to further enhancing the educational opportunities provided to our students. A significant outcome has been the adoption of a new leadership structure whereby four Deputy Principal roles have been replaced by a single Deputy Principal, with the role having accountability for two portfolios: Teaching & Learning and Staffing.

Underpinning this significant change in structure is the determination that a single Deputy Principal role will be able to provide greater cohesion and cooperation to allow the Executive Leadership to support the teachers and staff in their work of providing continual improvements in the learning and teaching offered to the students.

The Role

The Deputy Principal is an essential member of the School Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Principal and has designated deputising authority for the Principal. The Deputy Principal is expected to provide appropriate support to the Principal and to represent the Principal and/or the School Board, on occasions, as directed. The responsibilities of the position encompass:

  • Educational Leadership;
  • Staff Development and Human Resource Management;
  • Team Leadership;
  • Spiritual Leadership; and
  • Community Leadership.
