Dean of Student Wellbeing
Stuartholme is a Catholic day and boarding school for girls. Located in Toowong, Brisbane, Stuartholme School is widely known as one of Queensland’s leading secondary schools for girls and is Brisbane’s only Catholic Girls Boarding School. While an Independent School, it is also part of an international network of 155 schools committed to the education of young women in the Sacred Heart tradition. Stuartholme has a current enrolment of nearly 700 girls in Years seven to twelve, 150 of whom are boarders.
The Dean of Student Wellbeing is an essential member of the School Leadership Team with delegated responsibility for the oversight of student pastoral care practices and procedures as an integral part of the Sacred Heart Stuartholme School community. The Dean of Student Wellbeing is responsible directly to the Principal.
The successful appointee will have a permanent substantive teaching role in the school and will be required to teach a maximum of 2 classes in any discipline. The leadership role as Dean of Student Wellbeing is for an initial period of five years with a further five-year appointment subject to a satisfactory performance review at the conclusion of the first five-year period. After the completion of 10 years, the School may at its discretion advertise the leadership role.
The position will commence in January 2018.
The successful applicant will need to be familiar with the National Curriculum and assessment standards.
All staff are expected to support the Catholic ethos of the School and the Goals of Sacred Heart Education. The ability to teach Religious Education in a Catholic context would be advantageous.
