First VIII Rowing Coach
Stuartholme is a Catholic Independent Girls’ School catering for Secondary Day and Boarding students. Stuartholme School is seeking an experienced rowing coach to train our First VIII in the Brisbane Schoolgirls Rowing Association Competition.
Given our strong history of success in rowing, Stuartholme is seeking to appoint a coach who will provide a national standard of training for our students whilst embracing the ethos and culture of the school. The First VIII Coach is responsible for the management of the First VIII and the development of a positive rowing culture. The First VIII Coach will also assist the Rowing Director with coach education and mentoring as well as provide technical direction of the Year 11 & 12 sweep rowing program, alongside the Sweep Coordinator.
The successful applicant will be required to commence in March 2019 in preparation for pre-season training. Remuneration will be commensurate with the applicant’s coaching experience and qualifications.
Stuartholme School has a boatshed partnership with Brisbane Boys College, with a lease of facilities at St Lucia. In addition, the School has a fitness, strength and conditioning facility located next to Stuartholme School. A rolling program for assets ensures the girls are provided with the best equipment available.
The First VIII Coach will be based between the BBC Boatshed and Stuartholme Gym with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- talent identification
- the programming and execution of all water training and land sessions for the First VIII
- mentoring and development of crew members
- contributing to building the profile of rowing
- ensuring the School’s values are upheld and
The First VIII Coach is expected to attend the Senior Rowing Camp in July, regattas through July-August and State Championships in September.
